Understand Saudi Vision 2030
An independent, plain-English guide to the goals, programs and projects shaping the Kingdom’s transformation.
What is Saudi 2030 Vision?
Saudi Vision 2030 is one of the most ambitious national transformation plans of the century so far. It touches almost everything: how people work, where they live, what they do at the weekend, how visitors travel and how the economy earns its living. Official material about it is plentiful, but it is spread across many pages and can be hard to follow.
This site pulls the main ideas together in one place. We explain the three pillars, summarise the Vision Realization Programs, describe the major projects, and write about the numbers in a way that shows both progress and gaps. We link to the official source for each figure so that you can check it yourself.

The Three Pillars
Vision 2030 is organised around three themes. Together they describe a country with strong roots, a diversified economy and a government that is effective and accountable.

A Vibrant Society
National identity, culture, health, sport and livable cities. The aim is a fulfilling life for citizens, residents and visitors, grounded in heritage and values.

A Thriving Economy
Rewarding opportunities for everyone: skills that match the job market, support for small businesses, investment, and new sectors beyond oil.

An Ambitious Nation
Government that is effective, transparent and accountable, with responsibility shared by citizens, businesses and the non-profit sector.
Featured Projects
Vision 2030 is not only policy. It is also a portfolio of large projects, many led or backed by the Public Investment Fund. Here are four of them.

Diriyah
Home of the At-Turaif UNESCO World Heritage Site, a mud-brick city that was the birthplace of the Saudi state, now part of a large heritage and lifestyle development.

The Red Sea
A luxury and regenerative tourism destination on the west coast, built around more than 90 islands and one of the world’s largest barrier reefs.

AlUla
A desert valley of sandstone outcrops and ancient heritage, including Hegra, the Kingdom’s first UNESCO World Heritage site.

Qiddiya
A planned entertainment, sports and culture destination near Riyadh, launched in 2018 around the idea of the power of play.
